Cohesion-building tools in students’ defense and indictment speeches

Abstract

The paper examine the speeches made/delivered at the Department of Hungarian studies in Novi Sad within the academic subject of Practical Rhetoric. When mapping the topic network of defense and indictment speeches related to different literary works, I primarily focus on how the topic is developed and maintained in different parts of the speech. How does the word usage, style, and reasoning technique of the speaker fit into the rhetorical situation? What are the textual means of making an impact?
